For Sale

It is official. Our house is for sale. We put it on the market on Tuesday, September 4 and in only a week we have two contracts on it. We are in the process of negotiating with one of the contracts.

Additionally, we've found a house that we both love and are looking a putting in a bid this week. Wish us luck that everything works out!!

Summer Travels

Sorry for the delay in posting. The last month has been crazy!! I think this might be our first weekend at home in over a month, so here is a brief update on where we've been.

Hampton, Virgina
I headed down to Hampton, Virgina to visit Jill and Miles on August 17. I picked up Mom on my way through Richmond and then we headed to Hampton. It was nice to see Jill and Miles again. During the visit, we went to Colonial Williamsburg. It was interesting to see the Revolutionary War from a Southern perspective. Being raised in New England, we learned about the battles of Lexington and Concord and the Battle at Bunker Hill, but it was interesting to learn about what has happening in nation's first settlement during the same time period.

While we were there, we all even got into the spirit, (with the exception of Jill, she thought we were being dorks.) I think Miles wins the prize for getting into character. He looked pretty serious with those toy guns.

Tara and Aden's Wedding
The weekend of August 25th we headed up to New Jersey for a wedding of a classmate of Micah's from college. It was a beautiful wedding and it was great to see old friends. (We again got to see Jonathan and Kristen Goldberg.)

Summer Vacation
During the first weekend in September, Micah and I packed up the car and headed to Michigan for a week long vacation. We stopped by Deep Creek Lake on our way and visited Micah's parents on our way. The drive out to Michigan wasn't too bad and Reese slept pretty much the entire way. Reese and Sadie got along amazingly. It is weird how much they look alike.

During our stay we visited Greenfield Village, which a little glimpse into history thanks to Henry Ford. It is a tribute to innovation and invention during the early part of last century. Dad loved it, Micah thought it was cool and for the first hour Mom and I thought it was fun. It was a lot of walking around looking at houses that are from the Northeast ( most of which Mom and I think Henry Ford stole and brought to the Village.)

Later in the week, Mom, Dad and I went to Ann Arbor (Micah wasn't feeling well). The main reason I wanted to go, was to visit Zingerman's Deli, a traditional Jewish deli. I'd read a great review about the deli in my August issue of Rachael Ray Magazine and it lived up to the comments. Mom and Dad got a traditional Reuben, (corn beef, coleslaw and Russian dressing on rye), while I got a turkey sandwich with avocado spread on a hearty white bread. It was all very tasty. Check out the Zingermans at www.zingermans.com.

Micah and I snuck away on Wednesday and headed up the Bay City, Michigan, which is on the Saginaw River. It was a cute city, with a quaint downtown. And it was nice to get away and enjoy each others company.

We all went Geocaching on Thursday when we got back from Bay City. We found the first cache quickly. Actually I found it. The second on was a little harder to find and we were attacked by killer mosquitoes. We had to abandon the search to save our skin. Micah was bitten the worse. He will say it is because he was born in Hershey and is so sweet. I think otherwise... (hehe)

On Friday, Mom and I spent the morning at the spa, which was a great treat. We each got a facial and manicure. I also got a pedicure. It was nice to be pampered.

On Saturday, we once again packed up the car and headed home. It was fun vacation, but it is nice to be home.
